Artemi Cerdà is a Full Professor in Physical Geography at the Department of Geography (Valencia University) and Head of the Soil Erosion and Degradation Research Group. Editor and member of editorial boards of 25 journals, author of 350 research papers and books.
Professor Cerdà is expert on soil erosion processes in Mediterranean Type Ecosystems and his research is applied to forest land affected by forest fires and agriculture land. Both topics are science oriented but also applied science is developed to achieve the best managements. Research projects at regional, national and international level allowed professor Cerdà to research key issues such as soil erosion after forest fires, the role of ash, and also the farmer’s management and soil degradation in agriculture land.
